ジャズマスターに捧ぐ/カーネギーコンサートライブ -1994年
「ジャズ・マスターズに捧ぐ－Verve５０周年記念カーネギー・ホールコンサート・ライブ」。これでもかというくらいに新旧豪華な顔合わせのコンサートです。ハービー・ハンコックは１、１０、１５－１６曲目に、チャーリー・ヘイデンは５－６曲目に、パット・メセニーは１１－１２曲目に、ゲイリー・トーマスは１５曲目に参加。１曲１曲は比較的コンパクトになっていて、演奏しているのはけっこうオーソドックスなジャズだけれども、それぞれフィーチャーされたソロイストたちの演奏は個性的でなかなか。ハンコックのピアノはちょっとトンガっていて聴いていると面白いです。バックバンドのメンバーも名前を知っているような腕っこきが多数います。総花的ではあるけれども、こういうセッションもなかなか貴重なので、聴いておいて損はないかも。
